Grammar Spot 2
I am not sure what Beverley Pennell was asking for regarding the identification of a clause by the authors. It must be on another page.
However, I did appreciate the way in which the authors clearly defined text types, their purpose and their structure. Even though I knew what they were, it was a handy revision.
New words for me were:
Prototype text types- the original text type that all others are copied from.
Macro text types or macro genres- Formed by adding simple text types together to achieve a broader purpose or by inserting (embedding) stages of one text type within another.
